I've been wanting to do a post with regards to the 'f'' word. Well, I did make a post about it, but not here. Instead, as a comment in Facebook.
In my opinion, many people think that 'F' is a very 'IN' word. Besides, this word can be used in all kind of aspects, be it positive or negative ones. An example of a positive one would be,
'you can't imagine how f***ing happy I was when my crush walked towards me and asked for my number!!!',
a negative one would be,
'F*** him! So F*** up when I realised that his target wasn't really me but my best friend. & the reason why he aked for my number was because he was tooooo f***ing shy to ask from my friend directly! F*** him F*** him F*** him!!!'
(For more examples on how to use such word in a sentence or two, you may want to check it out at our younger generation's blogs. They have replaced the 'f' word with 'extremely')Also, the 'f' word seems to be able to bring out a kind of anger that one wants to express but unable to due to the lack of vocabulary he or she possess.
& yes, It IS normal and a common word. But this word wasn't in our 'dictionary' when we were in primary school (for people borned in 1993 btw). Which 'kind' soul has introduced this word to almost all of us and casted a spell which makes almost all human beings use (say, write etc) this word without the need of thinking twice? If it was one person's doing, it is already incredibly done 'awesomely'. Let alone talking about TV, Radio, News, Newspaper, Dramas, Movies, any other things where people can get their hands on them EASILY. ...
I believe that american idol season (Including other shows, I supposed) has censored away the word because they are awared that that isn't exclusive to people above 16 or 18, who are able to think and make right decisions whether or not to use the word when they know the meaning behind and know that it isn't a right/appropriate word to use. Kids MAY BE watching the show too! If they haven't did that, kids will inevitably and obliquely learn that word and may even argue with you saying that 'but hey, when they can say that, why can't I use that?? (followed by the 'f' word)' if you happened to be educating them. However, it will be a different story when the word is being censored away. Assuming that all kids are curious, and always do, when the BEEEP kept repeating, kids will start asking their parents why, why and more whys. This is where parents stepped in and educate their kids, teach them and answer their 'WHY?'!
In order to contribute to a better world, a world where our future generations are brought up in the right way, able to express themselves clearly without the usage of F***, everyone plays a part and same goes to the mediacorp (that's for Singapore, haha, not sure about USA's; do their mediacorp also named mediacorp?). They are playing a part in contributing to a better world! (so touching~ T.T)So, what we can do now is to create a 'anti people who use the 'f' word' group and make sure the number of members keep rising! (just kidding)
Okay, done with my 报章报道. OH, wait, last but not least, I strongly believe TV, Radio, News, Newspaper, Dramas, Movies etc have great influentials (as kids always imitates whatever the actors/actress did, or learn new words). Because I remember when I was in Primary 1 or 2 I answered a question correctly in my chinese test thanks to 小叮当 show! Oh talking about 小叮当, I haven't watch that for a pretty long time. HAIZ.
Okay, done, hope you read! ( longest comment I ever gave in my whole life)
