MOE Teaching Scholarship
Sunday, February 5, 2012

I signed up for MOE teaching scholarship tea session again. I guess today was my third time (or fourth since I came for two sessions today) sitting through all these. Everything is much more clear to me now that I know which universities I am applying to, so yesterday (4th Feb) was definitely not a wasted trip despite having only 2 hours of sleep (Slept at 6am!) and was annoyed by my brother's singing and playing guitar in my room and his conversation with my mum as early as 8am in the morning!

The first session that was held in the morning from 10am to 12pm was Humanities talk. I 'lied' to the people in my group that I thought of taking up the chinese language scholarship (cause I thought that language is part of humanities!?) Oh wait, but hey! I don't exactly mind teaching chinese! I think it's very inspiring and of course, fun to learn and teach. We had subject head of English from a school in woodlands (can't remember the name of the school) sharing her experiences and answering our enquires in the first sharing session, and an officer, Joey, clarifying our doubts we had about the application process. Now I think I am more clear of what I want to study in universities - Major in Art and minor in Math. Because teaching mathematics has also been my passion. I had no formal experience in teaching Art (unless you are talking about Artgrain) but I think it is more drilling and I not too sure if I can handle it.

PS: Oh and I saw familiar faces like Wan Teng, Lin Hao, Song Ru's friend and Isabella.

We had a short break in between and it was extremely awkward when I had to talk to my friend (Wteng) and her bf (okay, I just ignored his presence ever since what he did to me.)

The second session was in the afternoon from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. I happened to be sitting in the same table with Mr Tan, my former AEP teacher. I felt less nervous and in fact, it was as if I was 'home' once again. (oh god, I guess I have took AEP as my second home without even realising it.) We had speaker, my senior who was previously from Nanyang JC to speak to us about her experience despite only taking up the scholarship last year. She is one speaker with a good sense of humor. ;)

After the talk, i mingled around with vivien and her friends (and Mr Tan) and learned that they are submitting my video work for SYF this year! Woah! I am excited for it! (hope I can at least attain a gold) :D

I headed to Seng Kang (popular) and spent $111.60 (I think) on books!
So here's the list of books I bought today (yes it's pretty scary):
1. Giddens' You are the apple of my eye
2. The Hunger Games Trilogy
3. The best I could by Sunhas Anandan
4. The notebook by Nicholas Sparks

I am a shopaholic when it comes to books, note that I didn't use 'avid reader' or anything along that line, because I LOVE buying books but NOT READING them. That's.. pretty bad right? BUT! I am going for a change now! Reading shall now be my hobby (not watching some taiwan/korean dramas or varieties that can't enrich my life). I guess my writing will improve very soon.. :D

Alright, it's 12:58am now and I just slept from 6 to 11.38pm. My body clock is screwed up I think. Oh wellz, think I'm going to spend my night reading and then chatting with Lim on FB (just like what I did last night) later on!

PS: I will be spending my day alone tomorrow again :D

Okay! Bye! Till then! :D
